Investment in Therapy
My hourly rate for therapy is $250. Limited sliding scale is available, ranging from $175-$250 depending on frequency and availability.
Some context as to what goes into my fee:
I keep my caseload small so that I can show up fully present and resourced for every person I work with. I invest continuously in advanced trauma therapy trainings, clinical supervision and my own therapy to ensure that I’m offering work that is ethical, embodied, and deeply effective. My rate reflects the level of care, training and intention I bring to this work — and the kind of longterm transformation we aim for together.
As a private practice therapist, I also cover the full cost of running a business, including health and liability insurance, continuing education, and time off for rest. Insurance reimbursement rates have not kept pace with inflation, so I no longer accept new in network clients. My rate is consistent with other experienced trauma therapists in the NYC area.
If my rate is not accessible for you, I recommend searching Psychology Today for in network options or Open Path Collective for low fee options. Intuitive Healing NY also offers sliding scale therapy starting at $80. I am happy to help with referrals if needed. We all deserve care at the level that fits our budget.
I can provide a monthly superbill for clients with OON benefits through Aetna and UHC. Please contact your insurance company to ask:
• Do I have out-of-network mental health or behavioral health coverage?
• Does my plan reimburse for psychotherapy services provided by a New York State licensed creative arts therapist (LCAT)? If so, confirm License #002726.
• Do I need to meet an out-of-network deductible? How much is it?
• At what rate will I be reimbursed for a 60 min session? (if they ask for a CPT code it is 90837)
• Does my plan reimburse for telehealth (video) psychotherapy services?
• Is there an annual limit on the number of sessions or the total amount that’s reimbursable?
